Children Integrated Oncology

Integrated medicine to support traditional chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery and immunotherapy

Children’s Integrated Oncology, also called Integrated Paediatric Cancer Care, is the study and treatment of cancer in children by a combination of ‘Eastern’ and ‘Western’ methods. Cancer and related illnesses are always difficult, but they are particularly tragic for young patients and their families.

At Wellbeing Medical Group, we seek to use integrated medicine to support traditional chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery and immunotherapy techniques. These are areas where Western medicine truly excels, but these treatments still have substantial limitations, drawbacks and side effects.

Perhaps equally importantly, we seek to improve the wellbeing of the entire family, not just the patient. Parents, siblings and other family members can be equally devastated by a cancer diagnosis as the patient, and our holistic and psychological treatments seek to improve the mental and physical health of the entire family, improving the quality of life for all.

Suitable For

Common paediatric cancers:

Leukaemia

Wilms tumour

Neuroblastoma

Retinoblastoma

Rhabdomyosarcoma

Tumours of the brain and spinal cord

Osteosarcoma and other bone cancers

Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Is integrated medicine right for you? Quite possibly. Many of our patients feel that western medicine alone has failed them, or at least has not managed to address all of their problems. Other are satisfied with the primary effects western medicine, but are troubled by the side effects and other issues that come from a non-holistic approach to health.

What causes cancer in children?

Changes to genes via exposure to chemicals (called carcinogens)

Exposure to radiation, including UV from sunlight

Infections, especially by viruses which modify a cells genetic make-up as part of their reproductive cycle

Dr Kloppenburg Vieth and our paediatric team recommend integrated oncology and holistic therapies which can make western medicine’s efforts more effective, less damaging, and more responsive to the needs of the patient’s whole-body wellbeing.
