Who Is Ozone Therapy Suitable For?

Ozone therapy can be used alongside cancer treatment at various stages of your journey. It may be particularly helpful if you’re experiencing fatigue, inflammation or immune suppression from chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Ozone therapy is available at our clinic on Tower Bridge Road in central London. The treatment requires specialist equipment and is administered on-site by our clinical team.

Our clinical team specialises in integrative cancer care. Every member understands the unique needs of cancer patients and stays up to date with the latest research so that your protocol reflects current best practice.

Our clinic on Tower Bridge Road is easily accessible by public transport and within walking distance of London Bridge station. We’ve designed the space to feel calm and private

From the moment you arrive, our team is here to look after you. The clinic is a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax during your therapy.

We offer flexible scheduling around your hospital treatment calendar. Booking is straightforward and our team will help you find times that work.

We begin with a free consultation to understand your diagnosis and treatment history. Dr Saskia and the medical team will then recommend the right therapies for your situation and provide clear pricing. There is no obligation to proceed.

What is ozone therapy?

Ozone is a naturally occurring gas made up of three oxygen atoms. In medical settings, ozone therapy uses carefully controlled concentrations of medical-grade ozone to support your body’s natural processes.

The most common method we use is major autohemotherapy (MAH): a small sample of your blood is drawn, mixed with medical-grade ozone, and then returned to your body through an IV. This process may help improve blood oxygenation, support immune function and reduce inflammation.

We also offer ozone therapy through rectal and vaginal insufflation (where ozone gas is introduced via a catheter) and subcutaneous injections (where a small amount of ozone is injected under the skin to trigger an anti-inflammatory response). Dr Saskia will recommend the best approach based on your diagnosis and needs.

Wellbeing Medical Group is the first clinic in the UK to offer ozone therapy for cancer patients across all three delivery routes — intravenous, rectal and vaginal. This approach, developed by Dr Saskia, allows us to tailor ozone therapy to your specific cancer type and clinical needs. Rectal delivery is particularly valuable for patients whose veins have been weakened by hospital therapies, while vaginal and rectal routes are used for specific cancer types including bladder and ovarian cancer.

“Ozone therapy offers a way to support patients at the cellular level — improving oxygenation, modulating the immune response and helping the body cope with the demands of cancer treatment. While more large-scale clinical trials are needed, the early evidence and our clinical experience suggest it can be a valuable part of an integrative care plan.”

Our Patients — Real Stories, Real Results

Fiona

Diagnosis: Adenocarcinoma non-small cell lung cancer

After one cycle of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, Fiona decided the side effects were too much. She came to us looking for a different way to support her body alongside her hospital care.

Dr Saskia reviewed her biopsy results, designed an integrative plan around her needs, and worked with her throughout.

Her oncologist monitored her progress closely — and Fiona was able to maintain her quality of life and disease stability.

Graeme

Diagnosis: Adenocarcinoma Oesophagus

Graeme contacted us before he’d even had his final diagnosis confirmed.

He wanted to be prepared — to have a plan that worked alongside whatever his NHS team recommended.

Dr Saskia built an integrative care plan around his surgery and treatment, focused on strengthening his body and managing side effects.

Isis

Diagnosis: Hodgkin Lymphoma

Isis was facing six months of chemotherapy for an aggressive diagnosis.

She came to us wanting to do everything she could to reduce side effects and give the chemotherapy the best chance of working.

Dr Saskia designed an intensive protocol alongside her hospital treatment, and Isis committed fully — attending every session and immersing herself in the research behind her care.

How is ozone therapy carried out?

Your safety is our priority throughout every session. We use only medical-grade ozone, and our team explains every step before we begin.

For major autohemotherapy: we draw a small sample of your blood, mix it with precisely measured ozone in a closed system, and then return the treated blood to you through an IV. The process is comfortable and typically takes around 30–45 minutes.

For rectal or vaginal insufflation: a controlled dose of ozone gas is introduced via a catheter. This method is simple, non-invasive and well tolerated.

For subcutaneous injections: a small amount of ozone is injected under the skin or into joints to trigger a localised anti-inflammatory response.

When your session is complete, you’re free to go home. Most patients experience no downtime.

How Does Ozone Therapy Support Cancer Patients?

Ozone therapy does not treat or cure cancer. It works alongside your hospital treatment to support your body in several ways:

Oxygenation

Cancer cells tend to thrive in low-oxygen conditions. Ozone therapy may improve blood oxygenation, which could make the environment less favourable for cancer cell growth.

Immune System Support

Ozone may help stimulate the release of immune-modulating compounds such as interleukins and interferons, supporting your body’s natural defences during treatment.

Reduce Inflammation

Chronic inflammation is associated with cancer progression. Ozone therapy has anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce inflammation in the body.

Cellular Function

Ozone may help improve the overall function of cells, making them more resilient and better able to cope with the demands of cancer treatment.

Cell Recovery

Ozone therapy may support the body’s ability to repair and recover from the damage caused by cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Cumulative Benefit

Like many integrative therapies, the benefits of ozone therapy may build over a course of sessions. Dr Saskia designs every protocol as a planned series of treatments, not a one-off.

We work closely with your oncologist throughout to ensure ozone therapy complements your hospital care.

Side effects of ozone therapy

Ozone therapy is generally well tolerated, but like any medical treatment, it can have side effects. The most common are mild and temporary:

Fatigue

– some patients feel tired after a session, usually resolving within a day or two

Temporary flu-like symptoms

— a mild reaction that typically passes quickly

Irritation at the site of the IV or injection

— usually minor and short-lived

Herxheimer reaction

— a temporary worsening of symptoms as the body responds to treatment, which settles within a day or two

Before starting ozone therapy, Dr Saskia reviews your full medical history and current hospital treatment to ensure this is the right therapy for you. Our team takes every precaution to minimise risks and will let you know what to expect before, during and after your session.

Benefits of ozone therapy

Research and clinical experience suggest ozone therapy may offer several benefits when used alongside cancer treatment:

Supporting your immune system

Improving blood circulation and oxygenation

Activating your body’s antioxidant defences

Supporting wound healing after surgery

Enhancing red blood cell function

Anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties

Supporting the production of new cells

Fighting viruses and bacteria

While multiple studies support these potential benefits, standardised dosing protocols are still being developed and large-scale randomised clinical trials specific to cancer are limited.
